I employ an active, short-term, problem-solving therapy that provides individuals and couples with useful techniques to make wanted and positive changes in their lives. This approach involves collaboration between client and therapist with the aim of attaining personal treatment goals.
The therapy employed focuses on the present and seeks solutions in the here and now. Understanding what messages we give ourselves and learning how to respond to them is a key component to change. We do not focus on the past, but rather look at a problem’s origins in order to change the circumstances that contribute to it. This goal-oriented therapy approach focuses on the strengths that individuals or couples bring and then builds upon these assets.
In my experience, therapy begins with clearly defined goals that, when examined with knowledge and compassion, can positively impact a person’s life.
